foreUP Q1 Newsletter – 6 More Weeks of Winter?

The famous Punxsutawney Phil, America’s favorite groundhog, saw his shadow on February 2nd – predicting six more weeks of winter for the country. Golf Season is Approaching and Golfers Are Getting Ready to Buy!

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to get a promotion, now’s your chance!

Over the past few years, we have had huge successes with limited time pass sales, 5, 10 or 20 round golf packs, during both one-day sales events and week long promotions. Any way you slice it, golfers will buy a good deal.

We’ve seen all kinds of ways to promote these offers too, and it’s not always using discount pricing (e.g. 10 day advance bookings with a promoted item vs. standard 7 days for regular tee times). Use your imagination, get creative, and get your message out there.

CampaignPilot

Being in the industry for over 16 years, we learned that golf courses have the need to create social media posts, HTML emails, printable flyers, and countersigns, but do not have the resources to make it look professional. If you don’t have image editing software or are uncomfortable using what you have, use CampaignPilot!

Many of you are ramping up for the 2023 golf season. The days are getting longer and the weather is slowly but surely warming up. Here are a few tips as you ready your foreUP accounts:

  • Allow singles to book online but only when paired with an existing group
    • If you would like to give singles the option to book online but only be allowed to pair themselves with an already booked 2 – 3 player group, go Settings > Online Customer Portal > Online Reservations > In the Online Reservation Groups box, click on one of your online groups > Turn on the setting Limit Singles To Existing Groups

Online Booking Updates:

  • foreUP is in the process of rolling out a completely new online booking experience which features updated designs and several new features! This will be available to clients using foreUP Payments or Worldpay as their merchant processor.
    • Updated Online Tee Sheet designs. Add a “tee sheet logo” to add a splash of branding to online tee times.
    • New check out flow which allows golfers to pay with a saved credit card, gift card, or raincheck! Split payments are supported, so golfers can pay for a $100.00 tee time with a $25.00 gift card and put the remaining $75.00 due on their credit card.

Tee Sheet Updates

  • We have been hard working on design and experience updates on the tee sheet.
    • New calendar navigation for mobile devices on the tee sheet. Click the date on the top of the tee sheet and a calendar modal will pop up and allow you to navigate to a new day on the tee sheet.
    • Checked in vs paid status. We added a new status on the tee sheet to show if someone has paid. This will help courses who are taking advantage of our pre-paid features. A golfer will show as paid with a green color then can be checked in when they arrive at the course.
    • Moved tee sheet dashboard, settings, and online special buttons to the top right to free up space and for a cleaner look.
    • Changes to icons to make seeing details easier. The number of holes will be displayed on the outside of the tile.
